With the various events and shows of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, one showcase really stood high above the fashionable crowd! In walks Matt Meyerson, Celebrity Fashion PR Innovator with Expose! What is Expose, you may ask? It offers the opportunity for exceptional brands to shine amongst the lights and catwalks of fashion week. This event was held across the street from the tents, high atop a crisp loft space in the uber-hip Bryant Park Hotel. I was fortunate enough to be a part of this amazing & unique fashion event!
Top stylists who have dressed some of your favorite celebrities, buyers and editors from all the major fashion magazines were on hand to preview some really ‘hot’ brands! There truly was something for everyone and I think that is what kept the energy of the day so intense! Gr.Dano, which originates from California, was there with some very sleek tailored pieces. They are really cut in a figure flattering way. One could imagine herself going from the office to a great dinner date wearing one of their belted dresses or hip hugging skirts – sexy secretary came to mind as I perused the racks.
I then made my way over to a gorgeous, soft mauve collection, which was created by Serpico of Chicago. These designs were delicate & luscious…very airy and feminine for those times you just want to feel pretty! As I strolled over to the pieces from the Liz Cartel Showroom, I have to say I was very enthused! Their fashions are selectively picked from the best of the best including; Nicola Finetti from Australia, Raya from Thailand, Farrah Dalauney & Bamboo from NY and Back to Noise from France. MSNBC’s own Courtney Hazlett was reviewing some of these fabulous fashions (anything she is looking at, the smart & pretty fashionistas should check out as well!).
Marc Marmel based in LA, had some tre chic luggage pieces. Ricardo Rojas, hairdresser to the stars, was on hand making women as sexy as ever! Sexy hair is certainly his thing! The very cool screw-free shades by Ic!Berlin were a hit with gossip columnist Micah Jesse. Last, but certainly not least, were the breath-taking couture knit creations made by the designer of Krelwear! The couture mastery of these dresses and tops was so sizzling hot that hip fashionistas were walking out wearing the styles! When someone does not want to take off your design, you know you are a super-star!
After the event, there was the E. Factor panel discussion, which allowed attendees to get inside tips on breaking into the fashion industry. Speakers included Matt Meyerson, Celebrity Fashion PR Guru & Expose Organizer; Shoshana Hoffert, Senior Buying Consultant TAF; the lovely Casie Gillespie, Zink! Magazine Editorial Director; Christine Park, Fashion Director of Gen Art; Jamee Gidwitz, Fashion Stylist.
