Netting Nations Birthday Kick-off!
Netting Nations is 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to prevent malaria by distributing Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs)
Hi fashionistas! If you remember back in August, we spoke about this great charity, “Netting Nations” that was brought to our attention by a friend of ours, Scott Weissman. A guy who actually cares about other people in other countries! How inspirational, cool and uplifting. As you know, the makings of a true fashionista is someone who is aware of other plights in other countries, cares for people and humanity (Scott certainly reminded us of that). It is causes such as this that make you think and appreciate the simple things in life that we all take for granted from time-to-time. A school in Africa just sent “Netting Nations”a letter about how the nets have made such a difference for the children in that region by saving their lives. I had the opportunity to read this letter and I must say that it was truly touching.
There is a birthday celebration that is kicking off tonight…October 3rd in the Big Apple to celebrate and support “Netting Nations.” It is being held at *Cornerstone Tavern* 961 Second Avenue, NY, NY from 9pm-1am (Open Bar from 9-11 with a $15 Donation at the door). The night is being hosted by Doug Campbell & Sloane Berret. I wanted to thank the people at this amazing charity for extending me an invitation to this special event. It was interesting to find out that a mere $5 buys a net and helps save a child’s life! All of you global fashionistas are welcome to unite and swing on by the event. Here’s the scoop:
