Laurel DeWitt designs hand crocheted metal apparel. Laurel’s designs have been worn by fashion trend-setters such as Beyonce, Vanessa Hudgens, Khloe Kardashian, Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga just to name a few! #DF had backstage access during New York Fashion Week and I want to share the details with you.
DailyFashionista admires that Laurel works with metal to create beautiful gowns, jackets, shoes and headpieces. This fashion forward line has a sexy and edgy feel. #DF was swooning over the long see-through fishnet maxi, it was really cool. Laurel also featured a series of different jackets that truly caught our stylish eyes.
I believe that a jacket can transform the look and feel of your entire outfit. A leather jacket can take you from conservative to edgy, fun and ready for a night out in the city. A blazer can take you from casual to business casual. Laurel’s jackets are pieces of art and feature beautiful metal details. Anyone who rocks one of Laurel’s designs is not afraid to stand out and make a stylish entrance.
As for accessories, Beyonce rocked one of Laurel’s sculpted crowns with metal flowers in her “Hymph for the Weekend” music video. Who doesn’t want to be super fierce like Beyonce?!
My favorite jacket from Laurel’s collection was a leather jacket with silver metal detailing. On the back and shoulders of the jacket there were metals weaved together like fishnets, which gives the jacket an edgy rocker feel. On the sleeves of the jacket was silver metal fringe. Fringe is really on trend and DailyFashionista was really feeling it. Laurel paired the jacket with a knit beanie that had silver metal detailing and a long metal fishnet maxi skirt. I was absolutely obsessed with this look! This is the perfect way to stand out in the city.
