Susan Sarandon sizzles in Lanvin Paris.

When I heard one of my favorite actresses of all time Susan Sarandon along with her daughter were posing in exquisite images for luxury retailer Neiman Marcus, I just had to share the news with the DailyFashionista.com readers!

Neiman Marcus announces Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri Martino as the artists featured in The Art of Fashion campaign for Spring 2012. The campaign includes 14 portraits of mother and daughter and will appear in the March edition of the newly refreshed Neiman Marcus publication, the book. Debuting nearly 20 years ago, The Art of Fashion was a revolutionary step for a retailer as the campaign was designed to feature cutting-edge fashion and provocative photography.

In keeping with that legacy, this year’s Art of Fashion was shot by photographer Mark Abrahams. The portraits artfully capture mother and daughter in a way that appeals to and connects with women of all ages. Designer merchandise featured in the campaign includes: Burberry Prorsum, Carolina Herrera, Chanel, Donna Karan NYC, Etro, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, J. Mendel, Lanvin Paris, Oscar de la Renta, Prada, Tom Ford, Valentino and Vera Wang. The Art of Fashion campaign will appear in the first version of the refreshed Neiman Marcus’ the book. Building upon the book’s signature fashion and beauty features, new lifestyle-oriented editorial content will be supplemented into the oversize magazine.

“The March issue of the book not only features the celebrity power and beauty of Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri Martino in a rich pictorial campaign, but it also debuts new editorial departments. We are delighted to share this inspired edition of ‘the book’ with our customers and look forward to bringing equally strong content in the coming editions,” said Eddie Nunns, Vice President, Neiman Marcus Brand Creative.

New departments within the book include:

Intersection – where style meets lifestyle with news on people, places, culture and cuisine
Full Disclosure– a Proustian questionnaire in which celebrated cultural icons offer a brief self-portrait in words and drawing.  March: Tim Gunn.
Two Places at Once– A side-by-side comparison of two cities Neiman Marcus calls home
Heritage– An inside look at Neiman Marcus history over time. March: Neiman Marcus in film, television and music
Essay– A think piece dedicated to the issue’s theme.  March: Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody on reinvention.
Travel– An imagery driven celebration of a stylish destination.  March: Paraty, Brazil

These cheeky videos are taking over the fashionable and sometimes unfashionable Internet waves and entertaining many of us! It’s great to be able to laugh at oneself. What’s that saying — we are laughing with you, not at you!  When this new “fashionista” version surfaced, I just had to share it with the Dailyfashionista.com readers. All I’m after is a life full of laughter, as long as I’m laughing with you!

My favorite line you inquire in this video, yet again? Well it’s most definitely, “Is that Essie or OPI?!”

I think what makes the video such a humorous hit is the man above dressed as an obsessed “fashionista.”  See you at Filene’s ( I DO go there).

“Life’s a beautiful thing ’cause I’ve got rhythm it makes me happy.”

-Dorothy Dandridge

Dorothy Dandridge with her sultry looks and flirtatious style, became the first African-American to earn an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in Carmen Jones . In 1955, she was featured on the cover of Life magazine, and was treated like visiting royalty at that year’s Cannes Film Festival.  Proof positive that persistence, perseverance and patience are the way to go! Dorothy paved the way for people everywhere — women, men and anyone who expresses an individualistic flair.

In 1999, Halle Berry played Dandridge in “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge,” for which she won an Emmy Award.

Hi, everyone! I always like to share the fact that I come from a journalistic background. My brother is an accomplished book author. For example, my father was the staffer and researcher for New York Times Pulitzer Prize winning columnist William L. Safire and has been the PR man for former Presidents such as Gerald R. Ford. I sometimes feel as if I have to defend my interests in fashion for fear of being stamped “superficial” or vapid, because much to the contrary I have a deep side (just like most of us do in life).

I just had to share this you-tube that’s taking over the air-waves, entitled (ahem) “Sh*t Fashion Girls Say – the parody.” It’s ok to laugh, because I sure did! Here’s to a powerful and productive week!

My favorite line you ask?! “I think I’m ready for bangs.”

An uplifting quote from an American movie icon who stylishly wore slacks and set the stage for a new trend.  A statement that both men and women can appreciate.

Hi, everyone!! With the holiday season approaching I’m most certainly looking for stand-out accessories to complete my look. One to multi-task or multi-shop (I should say) I’m also looking for the ‘perfect’ gift for my good friends! I came across this stunning picture of  Christina Milian and couldn’t help but notice that fabulous necklace she’s wearing. Russian Dolls by Svetlana is a stylish, chic and unique jewelry line that is taking the fashion scene and celebrity scene by storm! There’s something for everyone as Svetlana has priced the line, so there’s pieces that many can enjoy! I especially like the idea of this necklace as something that can be passed from a mother to daughter, a special gift for a best friend or a caring gift from that special guy in your life (men are you taking notes here)?  Exclusive, handcrafted and truly beautiful — words can’t begin to describe how stunning this collection is in person! Alex McCord of ‘The Real Housewives of New York’ is yet another popular face who was spotted wearing this enchanting jewelry as featured in Star magazine! Each piece of jewelry shines like a special little Russian Doll!
