I have a section of the site I like to write that was inspired by the king cobra himself, Matt Meyerson http://plopculture.blogspot.com/ based upon his Cool/Not Cool posts. Here at Daily Fashionista we call it Sexy/Not So Sexy. The truth is you can wear the prettiest dress, a shimmery lipgloss or the most to-die-for killer stilletos, but true beauty and confidence comes from the inside & radiates outward.

Sexy

There is nothing sexier than telling the truth. Being who you are. Apologizing genuinely if you mess up. Surrounding yourself with people or being in a relationship with someone who appreciates you and respects you. Being able to admit that you are not a perfect “super woman” molded from a super hero comic book. Treating people in a kind way — having respect for other people and their feelings.

Not So Sexy

Anyone that’s dishonest and lies. Friends, boyfriends, co-workers and sometimes even husbands who may not have your true best interests in mind. Sometimes you can try and help these people to see the light, but at times — the relationships with them may become toxic and it’s in your best interests to grab your Jimmy Choos and stroll-on. With so many challenges facing us in the outside world, it’s important to make sure your “inner circle” is strong with genuine people who really care about you. Remember, you are worth it!

Sexy

There nothing sexier than a man with manners. Sexy is a guy that holds the door for his lady.

Not So Sexy

A guy who will only live in a doorman building, in order to keep his multiple “girlfriends” from bumping into one-another. A total turn-off.

Hi, everyone!! Here at DailyFashionista.com we like to have fun with our fashion and current events (laughing makes everyone look great). I created a somewhat sarcastic tongue and cheek section of the site awhile back called, “Sexy – Not So Sexy.”  “Sexy” represents the endearing attributes we admire about the opposite sex and well “Not So Sexy” is the flip-side. Today’s subject: Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Do you have a ‘Sexy, Not So Sexy’ idea for DailyFashionista.com? Email: dana@dailyfashionista.com and we just might publish YOUR idea!!

Sexy:

I could only imagine the discipline it took to achieve abs of steel — way before ‘Mike the Situation’ - ever did! Schwarzenegger began weight training at the age of 15. He was awarded the title of Mr. Universe at age 20 and went on to win the Mr. Olympia contest seven times.

Not So Sexy:  Allegedly cheating on your wife with anyone.

Many first dates seem like the social HOV lane to no-where. With so many online dating sites available these days, one would think the odds of meeting a great guy would increase.  I have to say, from honest experience that isn’t the case!! First and foremost, guys you need to re-learn the art of  ‘the call’ — I’m personally SO over men that think ‘texting’ is the only way to communicate in 2011 (you might as well use smoke signals)! Even if a first date actually comes to fruition many times it’s the first and last date. There’s a lot riding on a first impression here, gentlemen. I don’t want to come across as a hard-nosed fashionista, because many of you know me as the ‘polite one’, but lately I feel as if some of the metro-area men need a few friendly pointers. To the rescue comes a site ready to answer his questions and impress the ladies, www.socialsharknyc.com. ‘Turning Wimps into Pimps’ is their trendy motto!!

Founder Justin Gottlieb (who I admit is quite handsome) created an innovative site that’s really hip, interactive and rather interesting!! I love the concept of helping men ‘up their game.’ I feel like the women have Patti Stanger to give us ladies dating advice all the time, now there’s a source that men can utilize to do the same! The site is multi functional offering cool date ideas, hot venues, the best colognes, social tips & tricks, and so much more! I really enjoyed the “She Said” portion as well (of course, I did - *wink).  I may have to chat with Justin about writing for the ‘She Said’ column because I feel that I have plenty to offer that portion of the site (blunt opinions and advice)!! All of these ‘must know’ dating essentials are free with the option of one-on-one consulting for a personalized social/dating life makeover. Talk about full-service!!

Some of what you will find on the SocialSharkNYC site is quite interesting and entertaining:

*Receive a newsletter with exclusive content

*BREAKING DOWN GIRLS’ ONLINE PROFILES

*TEXTS TO MAKE HER WANT YOU

*THE ONE MOVE IN BED YOU NEED TO KNOW

*THE SOCIAL SHARK NYC DATING ALGORITHM

*Get invited to Social Shark NYC parties

*Comment on all blogs

The SocialSharkNYC.com launch party was held at the trendy RdV in the Meatpacking district of Manhattan. The Shark-tinis courtesy of Kettle One Vodka were creatively presented complete with gummy sharks and were really delicious!!  The good-looking crowd consisted of the who’s-who in Manhattan social life who showed their support for creative force Justin Gottlieb and this innovative social venture.  Juliana Goldman of Berk Communications, Liz Cassara of 13th Street Entertainment, fashion designer of Pretentious Pocket – Justin Ross Lee,  Darren Bernstein of the Empire Hotel, and Matt Kirschner PR expert were just some of the popular faces that attended this event. The stylish crowd also celebrated with a scrumptious shark cake! Photographer Sunny Norton was in attendance snapping away during all the chic festivities!

Men, head on over to www.socialsharknyc.com and see for yourself what all the buzz is about!! Social Shark is the hippest place to get the latest, greatest dating advice and information on the web!!  See you around town, everyone!!

Hi, everyone! I hope the week has treated you well, thus far. I want to start my weekend off with a good laugh. A smart fashionista knows that surrounding herself with the right types of people will only help to enhance her life and bring joy to the lives of others! This post comes on the heels (very stylish boots) of a conversation I had with a friend the other night…

SEXY

There is nothing sexier than spending time with someone that makes you laugh! Surrounding yourself with people who bring out that side in you is so important. Nothing is better than the feeling that you can be yourself, let your hair down and be liked for it! Having fun times with others is what life is all about. With the ups and downs that we all must face, having someone to giggle with is stellar. Anyone that brings a happy smile to this fashionista’s face is truly valued.

NOT SO SEXY

I like to refer to these sorts of people as “crab apples.” Anyone with the glass is half-empty mentality or doesn’t have a positive attitude, is someone that a smart fashionista will tend to avoid. You can try to help cheer a person like this up, but if your efforts are in vain, it’s time to take your cute boots and walk on, ladies. In addition, anyone that takes you for granted also falls into this category. No one is perfect in life and if someone is raking you over the coals regarding any imperfections you may have, they need to go!
