Like any discerning woman, I enjoy a nice and relaxing dinner. I think everyone these days leads a pretty hectic lifestyle, so when we have those moments to sit back and relax we want it to be a standout experience!
I recently had the opportunity to visit City Perch – conveniently located in Fort Lee, NJ by Hudson Lights and the new iPic Theaters – for a dinner with Piper-Heidsieck. Having attended one of the Piper-Heidsieck Oscar events, I already knew that I was in store for quite a treat and some of the most delicious champagne you’ll ever have!
We had been wanting to try the food at City Perch, so this was perfect timing! When I arrived at the restaurant it had that city vibe. It was a pretty night, so some people were dining al fresco outside, which was really nice. There is also a cozy indoor seating area that’s open and airy, with a welcoming vibe. The bar here is modern, yet rustic. Overall, the space is gorgeous.
Everyone was seated and the evening began! The First Course was a delicious salad of heirloom tomatoes, local greens, honeydew, green goddess dressing and herb oil and accompanied by the Rose Sauvage Cocktail with a dash of orange bitters and liqueur. The Second Course really was amazing as we enjoyed Tuna and Watermelon Crudo made of tempura Hass avocado, togarashi, yuzu ponzu and micro cilantro served with a classic glass of Piper-Heidsieck Brut NV. The Third Course was so delicious… the Snake River Farms Wagyu Ribeye, with charred scallion sweet-corn relish and red bell pepper beet puree, was cooked to perfection! My favorite of the night was the Piper-Heidsieck Rose’ Sauvage NV — one of the best I’ve ever had! I am planning to buy a bottle asap because that rose’ was incredible.
Last but not least was a dessert I’ve never had before and was so good that both women and men alike would enjoy! The Magic Custard cake..vanilla bean, valencia orange, strawberries and whipped fresh cream was excellent! This was served with the Piper-Heidsieck Cuvee Sublime a less sweet pairing to balance out the dessert! My compliments to the chef – what a night! Overall, the service was impeccable.
