Rejuvenate at Oasis Day Spa NYC

written by Dana January 21, 2016

The new year is in full-swing and the pace doesn’t seem to slow down in Manhattan. What every city woman needs from time to time is to slow down, take some time and center yourself. I recently heard the buzz surrounding the Oasis Day Spa and the Breathe Salt Room and had to learn more. My sinuses have been bothering me on and off and was looking for some relief. I also needed to relax.

One of my favorite ways to recharge is with a good reflexology treatment. Reflexology uses pressure points within your feet for relaxation and to balance the energy systems of the body. Once my appointments for the Reflexology session and Breathe’s Salt Room were booked — I had a feeling that it was going to be a wonderful morning. Jaclynn, of Blazers and Bellini’s joined me and we did a little girl’s day (it’s important to make time to see friends).

When I arrived the staff was very friendly and walked me over to the ladies locker room where I changed into a cozy robe and was able to safely lock up my belongings. Then I was escorted to the waiting room where hot tea, cucumber infused water and other healthy treats awaited! The room was quiet and very serene. Next, I was taken to a treatment room where my reflexology treatment began using peppermint oil. Peppermint essential oil gives a cooling sensation and has a calming effect on the body, which can relieve sore muscles when used topically. Pressure points in my feet were worked on and also a great massage on my feet and hands was also enjoyed. You can view their vast services menu here.

After the fabulous reflexology session, I met my friend Jaclynn in the Breathe Salt Room. The room was so pretty and I felt as if I was at the beach. I could literally feel my breathing passages opening up and the room was ultra relaxing.
