Sometimes, the stresses of the city can get to you. DailyFashionista heard that the spa at the beautiful Plaza Hotel is absolutely life changing – so of course we had to get the scoop. We recently had the opportunity to spend a pampered day at Caudalie Vinotherapie spa located at the Plaza Hotel. The day included complimentary manicures, pedicures, as well as a preview of the Fall/Winter presentation of Gudrun & Gundrun’s line.
For those unfamiliar with Gudrun & Gudrun, the brand began in the Faroe Islands, which is where the all-organic wool in their clothing is from. The line includes classic sweaters perfect for a cozying up near a fireplace on a winter night, dresses with a flattering knitting pattern, and cardigans suited for any type of New York weather. What I loved about the line was not only the organic origin of the wool, but also the versatility of the clothes as well as the message behind the production.
The dresses, sweaters, and cardigans could be utilized based on the subject’s mood. For example, if one were feeling the need to dress down, an over-sized Gudrun & Gudrun sweater would ideally accompany a pair of leggings, snug leg warmers, and hiking boots. Using that same sweater, one could also wear it over a flowing dress, or tucked into a 50’s esque skirt. According to Gudrun & Gudrun, “[t]he handmade production role is shared between Faroese, Jordan, and Alpaca women. Gudrun & Gudrun have their own women’s empowerment project in Jordan because they believe that women’s empowerment all starts with the opportunity to earn your own money.”
While diving into the background of Gudrun & Gudrun, I was treated to an exceptional manicure by Caudalie Vinotherapie spa, complete with a hand massage. For those staying at the Plaza Hotel or are simply on Fifth Avenue and in need of a day of pampering, I highly recommend Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa.
