DailyFashionista had the opportunity to stay at the chic and sleek Conrad Hotel downtown in the Battery Park City area of Manhattan.
Upon our arrival via ferry, we were immediately taken in by the beautiful park. Be it as it may, but most women are attracted to relaxing atmospheres amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. When we arrived at the Conrad we were immediately greeted at the entrance and check in was super easy in the main level.
Sleek, sophisticated and stylish, the hotel lobby presents guests with a taste of the atmosphere that they will be able to enjoy throughout their stay. The lobby itself is also a feat of engineering and architecture as it sits at the base of a 16 story atrium. Art and engineering are intertwined, as among the cable-like strings referred to as “veils” is the “Loopy Doopy” a mural by the renowned Sol LeWitt. Everything is blanketed in the rich hues and tones created by the lighting system. From amber to blue, the interior space is elegant and inviting.
Amenities are as plush as the rest of the hotel, with the gorgeous rooftop bar (also known as the Loopy Doopy), the fine dining at Atrio, as well as the many other independent restaurants which surround the hotel throughout this revitalized neighborhood, serving guests with some of the best that downtown Manhattan has to offer. The Loopy Doopy rooftop bar has not only some of the finest views of the area, but is a wonderful spot to share a special evening with a special someone or your girlfriends. Our recommendation: The Boozy Icepop, a flavored icepop served in a glass of Prosecco.
Not to be outdone, the interior restaurant, Atrio, serves up delicious Mediterranean cuisine which boasts the same modern flare which imbues the rest of the hotel. Our recommendation: Prosciutto Pizza, NY Strip, Spanish Chorizo Crusted Halibut, but really, everything. The Fig and Goat Cheese Crostini with a refreshing Mojito was the perfect hotel snack.
Each of the above chic, modern and stylish areas of the hotel only serve to prepare the guest for the luxury which awaits them in their suite. Our suite boasted stunning views of the Hudson River, Jersey City and the Statue of Liberty. Upon entering the suite, we were presented with a seating area, replete with couches, a large flat screen tv and a bar (which contained an espresso maker for those needing a kick the following morning). Separating the seating area from the window-front bedroom is a bathroom which could easily serve as a personal spa. Once we made our way to the bedroom after long days of enjoying the neighborhood, the hotel offerings, and the room amenities itself, we felt as though we could (and did) spend long swathes of time in the relaxed comfort the room offered. Our recommendation: Showering in the room-sized shower with multiple shower jets and exotic soaps and lathers before setting down to sleep in the plush bed.
From top to bottom, the Conrad offers elegance and luxury for all whom are graced with spending their stay in this wonderful Financial District hotel. Downtown Manhattan may be where guests are staying, but the Conrad is a destination. Thinking of staying or visiting NYC and want to learn more?
