Vivienne Tam Spring-Summer 2016 Fashion Week Show

written by Dana September 21, 2015

A favorite every season, DailyFashionista.com has the details on what’s to come from designer Vivienne Tam. The Spring-Summer 2016 collection was inspired by the increasingly androgynous nature of fashion in the 20’s and today’s “street” culture. It reflects a contemporary contextualization of art deco design elements, characterized by linear forms, dropped waists, stripes, and angularities translated into relaxed shapes that are reminiscent of the teen surfer/skater culture of the 70’s and nods to modern comfort and ease. These looks were made timeless and any modern woman can wear them! Also, be sure to break-out your bomber jacket — next season’s designs pair airy styles over dresses to create an ultra-cool look.

The clean lines, mesh over-lays, flattering cuts and easy feel to even the evening pieces was apparent as the models took to the runway. #DF couldn’t help but notice that sneakers were paired with all of the looks. Does this mean we can finally ditch those hard to walk in sky-high stilettos and opt for something fashion forward, cool and flirty?! Below are some of our favorites from Vivienne Tam‘s New York Fashion Week Show. The attention to detail on these dresses was really beautiful in a modern way.
