The holiday season is no better time for a staycation. Recently, I visited the Waldorf Astoria in New York to take in the city sights and excitement! I almost felt as if I stepped into a movie scene at this scenic hotel. An official New York landmark, there’s an old world vibe that’s undeniable and the history of the hotel itself is quite interesting!
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly hotel staff. They took my luggage and check in was smooth. The highlight of the check in is the lobby area itself and this beautiful clock that the hotel is known for! There are so many intricate details within the hotel that looking at the design elements or learning more about the history of the hotel are adventures all their own.
I checked into a beautifully decorated room done in a classic way and the bathroom had luxurious Ferragamo toiletries. The bed was really comfortable and the curtains were gorgeous. They are known for an amazing Sunday brunch and it did not disappoint. Colorful fresh fruits, carving station, desserts and omelettes were made to order. I really wanted to eat at the Peacock Alley and one evening I enjoyed small plates with most tasty truffled fries, Angus beef sliders and Baked Brie for two with figs — really delicious!
One of my favorite moments was in the Silver Corridor decorated in an Art Deco motif which leads to the ballrooms at the hotel. I had the chance before heading out one night to snap some photos while I was there wearing one of my favorite lace dresses. It definitely was one of those moments where I had to stop and just take it all in. The Waldorf Astoria New York receives a manicured thumbs up and was definitely a wonderful time.
